After studying Business at Manchester Metropolitan University, James put his studies to good use in a role in Branch Banking at the Royal Bank of Scotland. Fortunately for us he decided to make the move into education recruitment in 2012 when he joined Hourglass Education.
For James, successful recruitment consultants must first listen to what their teachers want. After all, they are at the centre of everything they do. He says, ‘the job becomes a lot simpler when you view it as a service, rather than trying to “sell” to either party’.
He also makes time to take on the crucial role as trained and trusted First Aider at Hourglass HQ. So far, though, everyone is relieved that we haven’t needed to put his more advanced skills to the test.
James is well known for his love of travel, but since starting a family, he’s had more use for a bucket and spade than a backpack. It’s pretty clear to friends and colleagues that he wouldn’t have it any other way.
