Having supported teachers through the recruitment and relocation process, we get to know them well, and we are keen to see them settle into life in the UK and their new role. We do, however, hand over responsibility for professional development and ongoing support to their employer.
Overseas teachers are best seen as a long term investment. They will bring extensive teaching experience and subject knowledge to their new role, but may have had limited access to the UK curriculum and British culture. They will have invested financially and personally in the move to the UK, and we have found that, in order to reach their full potential, they will need a level of commitment and support from their school.
